Congress has now returned from a two-week recess and will begin the lengthy process of debate and political maneuvering.  The committees responsible for passing health care reform have set a target of late June to pass legislation and then have the full House and Senate vote on the legislation in July.  The opponents of health care reform are now escalating their tactics and lies that surpass their efforts of 1993 and 1994. 

To counter the opponents of fairness, health care reform supporters must increase our mobilization efforts.  We cannot look back three months from now and realize that the cost of our INACTION was the reason that we lost this historic opportunity. 

We are going to send a clear and strong message that the Illinois families and businesses want their congressperson to be OUT IN FRONT for health care justice.  Will your member of Congress be OUT IN FRONT for accessible, affordable and guaranteed quality health care? Or will they support the insurance industry and other special interests by opposing President Obama’s effort?

CBHC and our coalition partners are holding OUT IN FRONT events and town hall meetings in congressional districts throughout the state.  Each event will be different and feature key constituencies (faith, small businesses, labor, providers, seniors, etc.) who are OUT IN FRONT with us demanding health care reform.
